Counsellors are not there to tell you what to do, but to encourage you to explore the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing, moving towards change and growth in any or every aspect of your life.
So the counselling style and each session will be tailored to you individually.
Holistic Counselling looks at the four aspects which make up the whole person:
Physical Health
The power of good nutrition affects the brain and body.
Stress, depression and anxiety all have negative effects on our immunity and bodily functions.
Emotional Health
Negative thoughts, emotions and trauma are stored in the body following the research by the leading trauma expert Bessel Van Der Kolk affecting the nervous system and the entire organism.
Mental Health
The power of thoughts affect our emotions and can influence our behaviors, choices and general wellbeing. The way we perceive the world is often linked to the meanings we give to our experiences.
Spiritual Health
We look at the person as a whole and what brings them a deep sense of aliveness and sense of interconnectedness, realizing that the search for meaning and fulfillment, purpose and identity is a universal experience that touches us all.
