FAQ’s
What is parent support?
Parent support provides a safe space for parents and carers to talk about the challenges they’re facing, gain practical strategies, and feel more confident in supporting their child. Sessions focus on helping you understand what’s happening, explore solutions and build on your strengths as a parent.
Do I need my child to attend sessions?
No. Parent support sessions are designed specifically for parents and carers. You can access support even if your child is unwilling to engage in therapy or isn’t ready for counselling.
What types of parenting challenges can you help with?
We can support parents with a wide range of challenges, including behaviour difficulties, anxiety, school refusal, emotional regulation, neurodiversity, family conflict, low self-esteem, sibling relationships, and navigating significant life changes.
Will you tell me what to do as a parent?
No. Our approach is supportive rather than prescriptive. We work alongside you to understand your family’s unique situation, helping you develop practical strategies and solutions that feel realistic and sustainable.
Is parent support confidential?
Yes. Parent support sessions are confidential, with the same professional standards and privacy protections as counselling. Any limits to confidentiality will be discussed during your first session.
